Before establishing Verma & Waters, LLP, Melineh Verma spent well over a decade practicing employment law at top international law firms where she represented employers and executives in a wide spectrum of employment-related issues. She counseled employers on a daily basis on a variety of workplace-related matters, including compliance with federal and state discrimination laws, individual and class wage and hour disputes and job classification questions, disciplinary actions, leave and reasonable accommodation matters, federal contractor obligations and hiring and termination issues. 

Ms. Verma also has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting employment, independent contractor, severance, restrictive covenant and retention agreements on behalf of employers, executives and partners. Additionally, her practice includes drafting performance plans, severance plans, commission agreements and employment policies, and conducting internal investigations and training and compliance programs. 

Ms. Verma received her JD from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996, and her BA in Government from Smith College in 1991. 

Ms. Verma is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the State of Maryland, and is an active member of the Armenian Bar Association.
